Harvesting Wisdom: Family, Transition, and Legacy

Hi, y’all! Johanna here from the TX Soil Sisters.

( The podcast media player is below w/ links to things we talk about. Or listen here.)

Soil Sisters with Tara Dukart at HMI’s Regen Ag School 2024.

In this episode of the Soil Sisters Podcast, we chat with Tara Dukart of Seek First Ranch. Tara and her husband Joshua have been practicing regenerative and holistic management since 2008 on their family ranch in North Dakota. Tara discusses the benefits of regenerative agriculture, their direct marketing of grass-fed beef and hair sheep, homeschooling their children, and the importance of positive family and community relationships. She shares insights into facilitating successful family transitions in farming operations, addressing potential conflicts, and the importance of proactive succession planning.

Tara talks about their Regenerate Schools and Retreats, designed to help families and teams improve their land management and wealth through holistic practices. Additionally, she introduces their accountability group, Win Warriors, which helps participants maintain positive momentum by celebrating weekly wins and setting new goals.

We hope you're inspired to seek community and mentor support in your agricultural endeavors.

Happy farming and healthy living, y’all.

Jo (and Crystal) ❤️
